Absolut Turn Off.  back
ABSOLUT TURN OFF is on page 9 of the Summer '98 issue of Freewheelin' mag, from Canada. This 1998 ad presents about 45 pick-up lines that might be overheard in a singles bar (that serves Absolut Vodka, of course). They fill the white page and are printed in black; some of the words are printed in red and form an Absolut shape. Sharpe Blackmore and the typical Canadian ad info runs up the left margin.
Among the pick-up lines:
Pardon me, I seem to have lost my phone number, could I borrow yours?
If you were a tear in my eye I would not cry for fear of losing you.
I'd marry your cat just to get in the family.
You know what I like about you? My arms.
Do you have a map? I just got lost in your eyes.
So what turns you on?

There are references to some Absolut "connections":
Great Manolo Blahniks! (Remember Absolut Blahnik from the '95 Newton Collection ?)
Is that a Donna Karen? (Remember her gloves for Absolut Warmth in the 12/5/94 NY mag?)
Didn't I see you on the cover of Interview? (numerous unique ads have been in Interview)
