ABSOLUT MONTY is on the bottom half of page E8 of the Weekend section of Friday's New York Times newspaper for 10/27/00. Five naked Absolut bottles, each similar to the Absolut Centerfold bottle (i.e., no calligraphy medallion), are seen, side by side. In black and white, the bottles are on a shiny surface, in a bright spotlight against a dark backdrop, typical of so many Absolut ads. The copyright date: 2000.

This ad celebrates the newest Broadway hit musical in New York City, The Full Monty, which is a takeoff of the hit 1997 independent film about some unlikely male strippers. In the ad, the naked bottles represent the naked men spotlighted on the stage. |
